EXCLUSIVE: Sky acquired A24 and Peacock’s Friday, the 13the series, Crystalline Lakeand will release it next year. The deal covers the UK and Ireland and will see the series shown on Sky and its streaming service, Now.
Crystalline Lake is the first project of Friday, the 13the franchise since Marcus Nispen’s 2009 reboot film, which was the twelfth film overall. The first seminal horror film was released in 1980.
The series stars Linda Cardellini (Dead to me, no good deed), who plays the iconic Pamela Voorhees from Friday, the 13the franchise. Also starring are William Catlett (Thousand and One, Constellation), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Shades of Blue, Nashville) and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.
The plot is expected to follow Cardellini’s Voorhees as a mother who gave up her singing career to raise a son with special needs and is turned upside down when she loses her son.

Callum Vinson (Chucky, Long and Bright River), Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Alegria Suprano (Fleishman is in trouble, best step forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s cut) and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, don’t tell mom) will be recurring guests.
Michael Lennox (Don’t say anything, Derry girls), directing duo Celine Held and Logan George (Upper side, Caddo Lake) and Quyen Tran (Sirens, The Pitt) will direct several episodes. Lennox will also serve as executive producer.
Crystalline Lake comes from showrunner, writer and executive producer Brad Caleb Kane (This: Welcome to Derry), which joins A24 and original Friday the 13ththe writer Victor Miller and Horror Inc. in bringing the story to the screen. Other executive producers are A24, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox.
The deal with A24 was negotiated by Katie Keenan, Group Acquisitions Director, Sky UK and Europe, and Facundo Bailez, Head of Acquisitions.
